The story takes place two years after the events of the first season. Dr. Kang Dong-joon (Han Suk-kyu) returns to Gongjin Hospital, where he works with a new team of doctors. He becomes a mentor to Cha Joong-woo (Seo In-guk), a talented but arrogant surgeon, and Yoon Se-ra (Park Min-young), a bright and ambitious doctor.
